Nobody trusts Donald Trump. In no corner of the planet. On any issue that affects the world. And the still unchecked development of the war in Iran amplifies these thoughts of concern.
There are more and more analysts, scholars, and intellectuals of all kinds who are concerned about Donald Trump’s presidential drift. And for a factor not insignificant: the consumption of economic and military resources in his offensive against the ayatollah regime.
A recent publication of The Washington Post about the launch of at least 850 long-range missiles by the US towards Iran, at least until the end of March, has multiplied the pessimistic feeling in American society.
The medium specialized in collects the testimony of two analysts on military matters, Mark Cancian and Chris Parkboth from the Center for International Strategic Studies.
They not only look at the current conflict against Iran, claiming that “we have enough of everythingincluding Tomahawk, Patriot and THAAD missiles, to combat the current conflict, i.e. Epic Fury.”
The problem they point out “lies in the effect on other scenarios such as Ukraine and the Western Pacific”, it is special in the face of a potential conflict against China. “And strategists are very concerned that the depletion of inventories will weaken our ability to deter or combat a conflict there,” they add to the outlet.
Those interviewed highlight that in the ‘China issue’ the US wants to stay “as far away as possible”, but with the ability to “be able to attack any Chinese invasion force or any Chinese force that has been established in Taiwan.” It is in this scenario where the Tomahawks used freely in Iran could be useful.
However, the high consumption of resources in the Asian country forces us to look at the coming years with caution. “Currently, to replace the 850 to 1000 we have spent, it takes two or three years“, concludes Mark Cancian.
