Microsoft co-founder will be heard behind closed doors before a committee
The founder of Microsoft and American tycoon Bill Gates will testify before a United States congressional committee in the context of the Jeffrey Epstein case, on June 10, a source close to the matter confirmed Tuesday to the France-Presse news agency.
The co-founder of Microsoft and one of the richest people in the world will be heard behind closed doors before a committee, which intends to question him about his links to convicted pedophile Epstein.
“Bill Gates welcomed the opportunity,” a spokesperson explained to France-Presse.
The hearing, scheduled for June 10, will allow Gates to clarify what he said when he considered it a “big mistake” to have ties to Epstein, who died in jail in 2019 before being convicted of sexual crimes.
“Although he never witnessed or participated in illegal activities with Epstein, he welcomes the possibility of answering the committee’s questions to support this important work,” the spokeswoman said.
The House of Representatives committee has been investigating the Jeffrey Epstein case, now hearing from a businessman mentioned in the case, notably in a saved but unsent email about medications to “treat Bill from the effects of having sex with Russian girls.”
