Vitinha’s gesture is conquering the Internet and showing that football goes far beyond the four lines.
During the game against Liverpool FC, young Trey Nyoni, just 18 years old, asked the Portuguese midfielder to change his shirt. The moment could have stopped there, but Vitinha insisted on keeping her promise until the end.
After the final whistle, Nyoni still had to participate in a running session on the Parque dos Príncipes lawn, along with the other reserves. For around 20 minutes, Vitinha remained waiting, without leaving the place, until the young man finished training.
Only then did he complete the exchange of shirts, in a gesture that quickly went viral. Furthermore, the Portuguese international still had time to greet practically all of the English staff present at the bench.
An example of respect, humility and keeping one’s word that is enchanting fans around the world.
Vitinha had been waiting 20 minutes by the side of the pitch that the Liverpool subs finished their fitness session on the pitch to swap his shirt with Trey Nyoni, who he promised to give his shirt to during the game! What a guy!
