The president of the (Brazilian Bar Association) Paraná, Luiz Fernando Casagrande Pereira, criticized the event in his presentation at the Brazil Legal Symposium, promoted by Harvard Law School between Thursday (9) and Saturday (11).
In his participation, Pereira stated that the country is experiencing a crisis of confidence. “Brazil doesn’t just have a justice problem. It has a crisis of confidence. The instruments of legal theory were not built for a system in which the highest court is itself at the center of an unprecedented moral crisis. That’s where we are. And no Code will solve that,” said the president.
The event brought together Brazilian jurists, economists and public leaders, including Ilan Goldfajn, former president of the Central Bank and current president of the Inter-American Development Bank.
