Paris – A painting by the French impressionist Claude Monet was auctioned in Paris for almost 10.2 million euros. “Vétheuil, effet du matin” (loosely translated: Vétheuil, morning mood) achieved a record price for a Monet work at an auction in France, as the auction house Sotheby’s announced on Thursday. A ten-minute intensive bidding competition broke out at the auction for the painting, which was created in 1901.
