Moraes schedules interrogation of his former advisor at the TSE – 04/15/2026 – Brasília Hoje

The minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) scheduled the interrogation of , who was an advisor to the magistrate at the (Superior Electoral Court), for the end of April, in the case in which the former employee is accused of leaking messages from the office.

Moraes also ordered the DPU (Union Public Defender’s Office) to defend Tagliaferro, after understanding that the former advisor’s lawyers did not regularize the client’s representation in court.

The order was signed on Monday (13) and published in the Supreme Court system this Wednesday (15).

Tagliaferro in November last year and became responsible for the crimes of violation of functional secrecy, coercion during the process, obstruction of investigation and attempt to abolish the democratic rule of law.

He is accused by the (Attorney General’s Office) of leaking messages to obstruct investigations into the coup plot. , the conversations show that the minister used the TSE outside the rite to produce reports and open investigations against Bolsonaro supporters.

The former advisor’s testimony will be held on April 28, at 2 pm. On that occasion, five witnesses presented by the PGR must also be heard: Aldo Galiano Júnior, Luciana Raffaelli Santini, Silvio Jose da Silva Júnior, Vander Luciano de Almeida and Jose Luiz Antunes.

Eduardo Tagliaferro currently lives in Italy. He is not obliged to participate in the interrogation or answer questions during the hearing.

The step is considered a defense instrument, but the result of it can be used by the prosecution to gather evidence. In case of absence, the defendant is not punished, and the process continues as normal.

According to Alexandre de Moraes, lawyers Filipe Oliveira and Paulo Cesar de Faria missed a hearing in the case held on March 17.

As a result, the defender’s office participated in the meeting, but stated that it had been called within a shorter period than that established by the (National Council of Justice) and argued that the appointment of the body should only occur after the former TSE advisor was summoned to appoint new lawyers.

The minister responded to the DPU’s request. He canceled the March hearing and gave Tagliaferro another ten days to regularize his defense in the process – which, according to the minister, was not done.
