Deltan donates R$730,000 left over from fundraising to compensate Lula

The former prosecutor was ordered to pay R$146,000 for moral damages to the PT member; donation was made to Curitiba hospital

The former prosecutor (Novo-PR), pre-candidate for the Senate, donated on Wednesday (April 15, 2026) R$ 730 thousand to Erastinho Hospital, in Curitiba (PR). The amount corresponds to the surplus of donations collected to pay compensation for moral damages to the president (PT).

The surplus is the amount left after full payment of the compensation. According to Dallagnol, the donations received exceeded the amount owed to the Court, and the difference — including income from financial investment — was allocated to the hospital.

In 2016, during an interview with journalists, the then prosecutor used slides with circles and names to state that Lula headed a criminal scheme. The image gained wide repercussion in the press and on social media.

In March 2022, the 4th Panel of the STJ (Superior Court of Justice), by 4 votes to 1, sentenced Dallagnol to pay R$75,000 for moral damages. The decision was later upheld by the Federal Supreme Court. With the incidence of interest, the final value reached R$ 146 thousand.

The former prosecutor said he received more than 12,000 donations via Pix, with amounts ranging from R$5 to R$1,000. After the final judgment and payment of compensation, in December 2025, the remaining amount —already corrected and with income— totaled R$730 thousand. He also stated that he added R$5,000 to the amount from his own pocket.

“From all corners of the country, people I didn’t know made spontaneous donations. Of R$5, R$10, R$50 to help me pay the compensation. The heroes are you who donated. But I want to be your best soldier. And together we will continue fighting for justice and turning evil into good”he said in a video published on social media.

When sharing the video, Dallagnol said he had “won the lottery twice”.

“I witnessed the generosity of people I didn’t even know,” he stated.

According to him, the 2nd “lottery” was able to allocate the amount to the hospital. “I won the lottery again when I realized that there are still people who recognize that we should not let ourselves be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good”, declared.

The former prosecutor also stated that the donors are the “true heroes” of the initiative. “This action made it clear that I am not the hero of this story. The heroes are all those who donated”these.
