Eduardo Bolsonaro fails to be interrogated by the STF – 04/14/2026 – Brasília Hoje

The former deputy (-SP) did not participate this Tuesday (14) in his interrogation at the (Federal Supreme Court) in the investigation in which he is accused of coercing the courts. The testimony was scheduled to begin at 2 pm.

Eduardo was not required to participate or answer questions during the interrogation, which was carried out via videoconference. He has lived in the country since February last year, where he articulates sanctions against Brazilian authorities.

Interrogation is considered a defense tool, but its results can also be used by the prosecution to gather evidence.

With Eduardo’s absence, the case against him at the STF will continue its normal course, without jeopardizing the next steps of the investigation or resulting in punishment for the former deputy for missing the stage.

Now, the process enters the final arguments phase and must then be taken to trial. The minister is the rapporteur of the case.

Eduardo Bolsonaro and commentator Paulo Figueiredo, who also lives in the USA, by the PGR (Attorney General’s Office) for the continued practice of the crime of coercion during the process and attempt to abolish the Democratic Rule of Law.

The prosecutor’s office claims that both acted in concert to pressure ministers of the Supreme Court, seeking to prevent the conviction of the former president (PL), Eduardo’s father, and Figueiredo himself in criminal actions in the coup plot.

The complaint states that Eduardo and Figueiredo mobilized contacts in the American country to obtain personal sanctions against Court ministers and even economic punishments for Brazil, in a strategy of intimidation. The measures were publicly defended by those reported in interviews, social media and live broadcasts.

In November last year, the First Panel of the STF unanimously decided . In his vote, Moraes said that the PGR raised several indications that the former deputy worked in the USA to pressure the Judiciary to suspend the case against his father in the coup plot.
