Ipsos/Ipec: 37% of Brazilians say they are misinformed about the war

A significant portion of Brazilians believe they are poorly informed about the war between the United States and Israel against Iran. This is what the Ipsos/Ipec survey released this week shows.

According to the survey, 37% of respondents say they are misinformed about the conflict. Already 43% say they are more or less informedrepresenting the largest group in the sample.

On the other hand, 17% of Brazilians consider themselves well informed about the war. Others 2% do not know or chose not to answer.

The survey also asked the population’s opinion on the need for attacks by Israel and the United States against Iran.

For while 24% consider it “totally necessary”/”necessary”; 12% had no opinion.

War in the Middle East

The war in the Middle East began on February 28, with attacks by Israel and the United States against several targets in Iran. The offensive killed the country’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, who was replaced by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.

According to Iranian state media, at least 3,375 people have been killed in the country since the start of the war.

There is currently a ceasefire in effect in the Middle East. The pause in fighting between Iran, Israel and the United States was announced by American President Donald Trump on April 7.

Additionally, Israeli forces have also suspended attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon while they negotiate a permanent end to the conflict.

About the Ipsos/Ipec survey

2,000 interviews were carried out in 130 Brazilian municipalities between April 8 and 12, 2026.

The research was carried out with people aged 16 and over, and the confidence level is 95%.
