Seattle/Vienna – Amazon is deepening its alliance with OpenAI rival Anthropic with another billion-dollar investment. In a first step, Amazon will invest five billion dollars (4.2 billion euros) in the developer of the AI chatbot Claude, and in further steps it could be up to 20 billion dollars more. At the same time, Anthropic will use Amazon’s chips called Trainium to train its AI models.
