After legal dispute: Alex Jones’ Infowars becomes a satirical site

Anything that lasts a long time will probably be fun. In November 2024, the major US satirical medium “The Onion” won the bidding war for Infowars, the former online portal of the conspiracy teller Alex Jones. They were supported by the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting in 2012. After the violent act in which the assassin Adam Lanza shot 20 children, six employees and later himself, Jones spread the claim that it was a set-up. According to his story, this served to create political pressure for the abolition of the Second Amendment, which enshrines the right to own weapons.
