The singer Anita, 33, revealed during his appearance on the Flow Podcast that his autobiography Carmen Miranda changed his life. In the chat with presenter Igor Coelho, the artist countered criticisms about failure and commented more about her inspirations.
When mentioning the book, Anitta said that she received a copy from a film director who advised her to “change the ending” of the story. At the time, the Rio native was facing health problems after the pandemic and felt that her body would never “be the same again”.
“When I started to see the amount of work and how she died because of her work… She had a heart attack, a heart attack live on a TV show. And I said: ‘Wow, man, that’s like me, the way I live my life’. And I started to internalize, in my head, this need to change,” she said.
It was at this moment that Anitta’s story was essential for Anitta’s well-being. For the singer, this was one of the most necessary turning points in her career. “Until then, I was looking to have more numbers, more fame, more money. And the money wasn’t even for me to spend”, she added.
Throughout the conversation, the artist reaffirmed that she does not consider her career a failure and that she is proud of everything she has achieved in recent years. The star also mentioned all the international partnerships she had, including a show with Madonna, songs and a tour with The Weeknd and a feat with Snoop Dog.
“If that’s what it’s like to fail, I would like to fail like that for the rest of my life. Because, what a wonderful failure! My life, for me, was victory after victory and victories that I never imagined I would have”, he said with a laugh.
