When it comes to car breakdowns, electric cars perform significantly better compared to equally old vehicles with combustion engines. This is shown by the current breakdown statistics from the German automobile club ADAC. In a comparison of vehicles that were newly registered in 2021, only 6.5 breakdowns occurred in 1,000 electric cars in 2025. For combustion engines there were 12.5 cases – almost twice as many.
