A Russian attack on the Ukrainian port city of Odessa on Friday night killed two people and injured at least 14 others. Civilian infrastructure and residential buildings were hit, while a 75-year-old married couple lost their lives.
Two people were killed and 14 others were injured in a Russian attack in the Ukrainian city of Odesa, the Ukrainian rescue service announced on Friday. TASR informs about it according to the report of the AFP agency.

“Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were under attack,” the rescue service said in a statement on the Telegram platform.
Destroyed buildings
According to her, the strikes hit a three-story residential building and destroyed at least two two-story buildings. As a result of the strikes, 16 residents of the building were evacuated and more than 140 rescuers were deployed to the affected areas.
The head of the military administration of the port city of Odesa, Serhiy Lysak, clarified on Telegram that a 75-year-old couple lost their lives in the attack. According to him, up to 15 people were injured.
Russian attacks continue
The Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began in February 2022, claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and displaced millions of people, writes AFP. Russia has stepped up drone and missile attacks in recent months, targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
Odessa was the target of Russian strikes last week as well. Lysak said at the time that the port city had experienced several waves of attacks that left nine dead.
