For Flávio, with current interest rates, Brazil ‘has gone bankrupt’ and it is not worth investing in the country

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency, stated this Monday, 27th, that the current interest rate has harmed the productive sector and favored investment through bonds, such as the CDB. “Nowadays, with this current government, no one can take interest to undertake anything. Everyone is putting their money to work in some speculative sector, in some CDB to yield 16%, 17% per year without making any effort. It is no longer worth investing in Brazil, Brazil has gone bankrupt”, declared Flávio at Agrishow, which brings together the agricultural public in Ribeirão Preto (SP), alongside the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).

Flávio Bolsonaro stated that the reduction in public spending in a possible government will cause interest rates to fall in Brazil, and that this will attract investments to the country.

In a nod to agriculture, the senator said greater predictability was needed for the Safra Plan. “There is predictability for the Safra Plan, as I said here, to reposition the lines of credit that have ended, at completely absurd interest rates. In some cases, rural structures have even taken interest at 25% per year, this is unaffordable, they are already so in debt. The federal government does not provide an accessible line of credit”, he said.

Flávio Bolsonaro defended vocational technical education and reaffirmed that the decision on who will be his vice-president will be made in the future.

Name for the Senate in SP

The senator stated that his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), and his brother, former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), will define the remaining name to run for the Senate in São Paulo for the Bolsonaro camp.

So far, it has been decided that one of the vacancies will go to deputy Guilherme Derrite (PP-SP). Names such as the president of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo, André do Prado (PL), and deputy Mario Frias (PL) are competing for the other space.

“The one who is giving the final word is Eduardo, together with President Bolsonaro. André just returned from the United States, but it was a good meeting with Eduardo, we went there to talk to President Bolsonaro. … We don’t know yet. There are three other candidates”, said Flávio Bolsonaro.
