Moraes demands defense from Débora do Batom on ankle bracelet

Hairdresser convicted of January 8th acts under house arrest; sister denies non-compliance with legal measures

The minister, of the Federal Supreme Court, determined this Wednesday (Apr 29, 2026) that the defense of hairdresser Débora Rodrigues, known as Débora do Batom, provide clarifications on possible non-compliance with precautionary measures. The judge established a deadline of 48 hours for lawyers to justify the errors recorded in the electronic monitoring of the convict.

Débora is serving her sentence under house arrest after being sentenced to 14 years in prison on January 8, 2023. She became nationally known for having written the phrase “Perdeu, mané” with lipstick on the statue “A Justiça”, located in front of the headquarters of the Federal Supreme Court, in Praça dos Três Poderes, in Brasília.

According to information from the monitoring system passed on to the family, Débora’s electronic ankle bracelet would have registered periods of disconnection between April 20th and 26th. The lack of continuous signal emission triggered the STF alert and led to the official notification issued by the office of minister Alexandre de Moraes.

DEFENSE DENIES VIOLATION

This Thursday (April 30), the hairdresser’s sister, Cláudia Rodrigues, gave an interview to the program “Pleno Time”, on the portal Pleno.Newsto deny any type of irregularity in complying with judicial restrictions. She assured that the technical defense will be able to document the regularity of the situation and justify the signal failures highlighted by the prison authorities’ system.

“I want to make it very clear that there was no non-compliance with these precautionary measures. We are very calm, because Débora has strictly followed all the measures imposed”Cláudia declared to the media outlet. The sister also reported that the hairdresser lives in constant fear of making any unintentional error that could be interpreted as a violation of the rules established by the Court.

ROUTINE AND HEALTH

To illustrate the level of caution adopted by the family, Cláudia cited a recent episode in which Débora needed emergency medical care due to a serious urinary infection. According to the sister, all the steps involved in going to the hospital were previously informed and documented with Minister Alexandre de Moraes’ office and the Criminal Police.

Regarding the hairdresser’s current routine, the family highlighted the psychological and practical difficulties faced on a daily basis. Although she recognizes that it is a significantly less severe condition compared to the closed regime in the penitentiary, Cláudia highlighted the weight of the continuous deprivation of liberty. “It brings comfort, but at no time does it let you forget that it is a prison”these.

The conviction of Débora do Batom is part of the hundreds of cases judged by the Federal Supreme Court in response to the invasion and depredation of the headquarters of the Three Powers. The precautionary measures applied in these cases usually include, in addition to the mandatory use of electronic ankle bracelets, the ban on the use of social networks, the cancellation of passports and the restriction of communication with other people being investigated. Proven violation of any of these rules may result in the convict’s immediate return to the closed regime.
