The summer flower bed is an ornament of every garden. But what if you forgot to sow? You just have to choose the species for which it doesn’t matter so much. “Some will even bloom a month and a half after you sow them,” says Jana Bucharová in the podcast consultation. This year’s was quite tempting. Still waiting on this one. And better put this off. But sowing annuals in April has its place not only because the weather is right for it. It is also about the plants growing and flowering in time. So that they really make you happy with the arrival of summer.
This does not mean, however, that if you have postponed sowing, the annual beds should remain empty for this year. You just have to choose a little more carefully which seeds go into them.
Fast and colorful
How to make it so that the eyes pass through late sown annuals? Make sure you buy multi-colored seeds for species where this is possible. “This applies, for example, to marigolds, as well as to marigolds,” explains Jana Bucharová. “In addition, it can be climbing, as well as the lower upright, and thanks to this it will cover different corners of the flower bed.”
