The former president (PL) is progressing well and has good pain control two days after his death, the hospital where the politician is admitted in Brasília reported this Sunday (3). He underwent arthroscopic repair of the rotator cuff, a part of the body linked to the movement of the arms.
“[Bolsonaro] maintains good clinical evolution and good pain control. He remains hospitalized in an apartment for analgesia, measures to prevent thrombosis and for motor and functional rehabilitation”, stated the medical bulletin.
The former president underwent surgery at the DF Star hospital by orthopedist Alexandre Firmino Paniago. He is also attended to by Claudio Birolini, a surgeon who monitors Bolsonaro’s general health, among other professionals.
On Saturday (2), the orthopedist responsible for the surgery stated that Bolsonaro will probably have (4).
The former president’s shoulder surgery was performed last Friday (1). Under house arrest since March, Bolsonaro needed authorization from the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) to undergo the procedure.
Moraes is responsible for the coup plot that culminated in the attacks on the headquarters of Power on January 8, 2023. The case led Bolsonaro to 27 years and three years in prison.
According to his lawyers, the former president had persistent pain and functional incapacity in his shoulder, requiring him to take painkillers every day.
The politician went to serve his sentence at home after leaving the hospital in the second half of March, when he was . Bolsonaro has undergone a series of surgeries since 2018 due to the knife attack he suffered during that year’s election campaign.
