Emirates announced the almost complete return of its operations, with 96% of the global route network reestablished. The resumption comes after weeks of instability caused by the escalation of tensions in the Middle East, which affected airspace and international aviation logistics
Over the past few weeks, the company has gradually normalized its flights to the Americas, Europe, Africa, West Asia, the Middle East, the Far East and Australasia.
It currently operates to 137 destinations in 72 countries, with more than 1,300 weekly frequencies, around 75% of pre-outage capacity.
The worsening conflict in the Middle East has increased the risk of operations in the Gulf region, including the company’s main hub in Dubai.
The local airport even suspended operations and closed airspace in the face of threats and episodes involving missiles and drones, impacting the company’s operations.
Even with the reduced network, the airline transported 4.7 million passengers in the most critical period, between March 1st and April 30th, according to a press release.
