The President of the United States, Donald Trump, received President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) at the White House this Thursday (7). Both will have a meeting in which they must discuss the economy, public security and geopolitics. See the video highlighted above.
Lula entered through the gate on the south lawn and was greeted by Trump as soon as the PT member got out of the car. The images were shared by Margo Martin, communications advisor for the American government.
The car used by the American secret service. The person who opened the door was a Marine, who provides ceremonial security at the White House.
Lula’s trip is classified as a “working visit”, and is more discreet than a state visit.
Unlike official ceremonies with gala dinner and military honors, the meeting will be held in the Oval Office.
Among the main topics on the agenda are tariffs imposed by the United States on Brazilian products, such as steel, aluminum, copper and furniture.
Another subject that should be discussed is international cooperation in . Members of the Lula government intend to reduce diplomatic noise involving the possibility of Brazilian factions, such as the PCC and Comando Vermelho, being classified as terrorist organizations by the United States.
