Russia kills 70 civilians in 5 days of attacks in Ukraine, says UN

Russian offensives from May 1 to 5 injured more than 500 people across the country, according to monitoring mission

Russian attacks killed at least 70 civilians and injured more than 500 in Ukraine from May 1 to May 5. The information was on Wednesday (May 6, 2026) by HRMMU (United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine).

On Sunday alone (May 5), 28 people died and 194 were injured. The offensives took place on the eve of unilateral proposed by the Ukrainian president (Servant of the People, center). Ukraine Russia from violating the truce.

In the HRMMU note, the head of the mission, Danielle Bell, stated that “Many of the civilians killed and injured were carrying out ordinary civilian activities, going to work, working, shopping, walking or responding to previous attacks”.
