A Panama-flagged bulk carrier bound for Brazil passed through the Strait of Hormuz using a route designated by the Iranian Armed Forces, Iran’s semi-official news agency Tasnim reported on Sunday.
Tasnim identified the ship as Mdl Toofan, saying it had departed the port of Ras al-Khair in Saudi Arabia and was heading to Rio Grande.
The ship had previously attempted to transit the strait on May 4 but was driven back by Iranian forces, the agency said, adding that it was the second vessel since Saturday using Iran’s designated route for the waterway.
