David Gulda’s book “Loew” about a family – and his mother Paola Loew


Not far from Brno, in Kremsier and Boskowitz, the Loew family’s journey began in 1802. Isaak Loew and Hannah Frankl, who would later tie the knot, were born in the same year. Still firmly anchored in the Jewish quarter of Kremsier and in the Mosaic faith that regulated life for them and their six children, they thought that things would continue like this forever until their son Wilhelm was the first to move to Vienna to face a different world.
