Gamescom Latam 2026: Phantom Blade Zero is the main highlight of the event

The came to once and for all consolidate Brazil as one of the great hubs for gamer events in the world, and among so many stands vying for attention, few managed to attract as much audience as .

S-Game’s new project, scheduled for release on September 8, 2026, not only made its presence known with a visually striking space, but also delivered something that many people wanted, with a robust playable demo, which finally brought the public face to face with one of the most intriguing titles in recent years. Amid low lights, scenography inspired by wuxia aesthetics and a soundtrack that seemed to echo directly from a classic Chinese film, the stand functioned almost like an extension of the game itself.

Still without many details so far, Phantom Blade Zero builds its narrative around Soul, a protagonist condemned both by injustice and time and a talented assassin in the service of the organization called The Order. Accused of murdering the patriarch of that organization, he has just 66 days to live as he tries to clear his name and understand the conspiracy that put him in this position.

This limited time frame is not just a narrative detail, but promises to establish a constant tone of urgency and melancholy, with a world around that reinforces this sensation, through unpredictable enemies and an atmosphere that mixes rain, blood and silence. The narrative proposal also promises to go beyond the traditional tale of revenge, also exploring themes such as memory, desire and identity in a scenario that mixes dark fantasy with folk horror.

However, it is in practice that Phantom Blade Zero begins to show its true strength. Playing the demo was realizing that the concept of kungfupunk, as the developers have determined, is not just a cute marketing term, but something that truly defines the experience. The combat is fast, technical and extremely stylish, reminiscent of well-rehearsed choreography where each movement has weight and intention, in an impressive ballet that seems to come out of traditional wuxia films.

A fluidity that avoids the rigidity common in games of this soulslike genre and that seems to perfectly imitate the movements of martial heroes. Switching between weapons, experimenting with so-called Phantom Edges and adapting your fighting style depending on the enemy creates a constant feeling of evolution. All of this is demonstrated with perfect execution through responsive commands that allow for impressive combinations of combos, making the character dance across the screen.

Visually, the game is effortlessly impressive. Unreal Engine 5 does its job competently, but what really stands out is the art direction. There is a very clear identity there, which draws from the source of classic martial arts cinema, but is not stuck in the past. Mechanical and industrial elements appear in contrast to ancient temples and misty forests, creating a world that feels both familiar and strange. This balance is perhaps one of S-Game’s biggest successes so far.

Still, the demo also raises some natural questions. At certain moments, the camera can become a little chaotic during more intense combats, and the progression system is not yet completely clear within the cut presented. Nothing that compromises the experience, but these are points that deserve attention with the full game in hand.

Overall, the experience at the Phantom Blade Zero booth provided that rare feeling of having experienced something that really tries to stand out in a crowded market. S-Game built a themed and immersive space, with game items on display, space for photos, a Chinese lion and an atmosphere that spoke to the game.

It’s clear that the developers aren’t treating this as just another action game with difficult combat and dark aesthetics. There is a strong identity, a consistent proposal and, above all, a clear desire to create something that dialogues with the past while building something new. If the final version manages to maintain the level of what was presented at Gamescom Latam 2026, we are facing one of the most interesting releases of this current generation in the universe of action games.
