The Government of São Paulo announced that, until Tuesday night (12), 86 of the 105 properties inspected in the Jaguaré region, in the west of the capital, have already been released for the return of families affected by an explosion on Monday night (11).
Five buildings remain closed at risk of collapse and 14 are under precautionary closure.
The Civil Defense and IPT (Technological Research Institute) teams work in security check of homes and businesses in the Alvorada neighborhood since the accident.
Inspections are being cataloged at four levels, considering colors:
- Green: properties without danger and released for families to return to live (86 units);
- Yellow: residents can remove their belongings;
- Orange: families must be accompanied by Civil Defense to remove belongings (14 units);
- Red: closed and at high risk of collapse (5 units).
The inspection work will resume this Wednesday morning (13).
Emergency aid
On Tuesday afternoon, at least 194 people were already registered in the immediate emergency assistancewhich allows you to receive from Sabesp. Meanwhile, families who are not yet in the program remain sheltered in hotels.
The water supply company had given families registered with Pix R$2,000 as a form of assistance. Anyone who received the old amount is already receiving the corrected number.
In the place where the explosion occurred, state teams maintain a help desk for the homeless and those in need of help.
Explosion at home
A house exploded and caused a fire in the Alvorada neighborhood, in the Jaguaré region, in the west of São Paulo.
The explosion may have been caused by a leak of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), after a (Basic Sanitation Company) punctured a Comgás pipeline.
Three injured and one dead
One person died in the explosion. The fatal victim was identified as , who lived in one of the residences in the affected region.
According to information obtained by CNN Brazilhe worked as a security guard and was two months away from completing another year of life.
According to Civil Defense, Alex Sandro was a resident of Minas Gerais and the man’s family is trying to transfer the body to the state.
Three other people are injured after the accident. One received treatment at the USP University Hospital. The other victim is in stable health at USP’s Hospital das Clínicas. The third patient is hospitalized in serious condition at the Osasco Regional Hospital.
One of the injured is a Sabesp employee who worked at the site where the explosion occurred. The other two are residents.
