German auto industry expects major job cuts

Berlin – The Association of the Automotive Industry in Germany expects additional massive job cuts in the auto industry. “Unfortunately, according to current calculations, we have to assume an employment loss of 225,000 jobs by 2035, i.e. around 35,000 jobs more than previously assumed,” said VDA President Hildegard Müller to the Editorial Network Germany (RND). Of these, 100,000 jobs have already been lost between 2019 and 2025, said Müller.
