US ambassador asks Gulf countries to choose between Iran and Israel

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee called on Gulf Arab states to “choose a side” between Israel and Iran, saying the war showed the benefits of normalizing ties with the former.

“Choose a side. Which side will you choose?” he said on Tuesday (12) at a conference in Tel Aviv.

“Those now understand that they will have to make a choice. Is it more likely that they will be attacked by Iran or by Israel? And I think they can look around and say: you know, Israel helped us. Iran attacked us.”

“The lesson is that Israel is not your natural enemy. Israel is not trying to destroy you. Israel is not trying to take your land,” he said. “It’s not sending missiles into its civilian territories. Who is doing that? Iran is.”

The US envoy praised the UAE, saying it is an “example” of how a country can benefit from Israel in times of need.

“Israel just sent them batteries and crews to help them operate them,” Huckabee said.

A CNN previously reported that Israel secretly made the Iron Dome air defense system and dozens of troops available to the United Arab Emirates during the war with Iran, according to an Israeli source familiar with the matter.

Iranian missiles and drones targeted all six Gulf states during the war. You .
