The minister resigned this Wednesday (13) from a vacancy at the (Superior Electoral Court), one day after being by.
In her place, he was elected to fill the position of effective minister. He has already assumed the position as a substitute. The symbolic claim considers the seniority criterion.
The announcement of Cármen’s resignation was made by the president of the (Supreme Federal Court), in the court’s plenary. The election was held virtually. The result was announced at the end of the session.
Cármen Lúcia could have remained president of the TSE until June 3 and in court until August. At the beginning of April, she did so that her successor would have more time to organize the October elections.
“In the wake of our consolidated administrative jurisprudence, the end of the mandate of president of the Superior Electoral Court has been accompanied by the resignation of the remaining period of the mandate granted by this Supreme Court to one of the members of the House”, wrote Cármen in the message read by Fachin.
“Her Excellency, Minister Cármen Lúcia, thanks the ministers for the trust given to her and which led to giving her the invaluable honor of acting as a member of the electoral court for the second time”, he added.
