Planes prevented from refueling at Lajes Base due to fuel tank contamination

For a week, planes will not be able to refuel at the civil airport at Base das Lajes, in the Azores. At issue is the contamination of a fuel tank.

The supply of military aircraft will not be affected by this constraint, since the fuel used by the military base is North American.

SIC knows that this situation has persisted for at least two days, when the ship S. Jorge took fuel to the airport.

It remains to be clarified whether the operation of TAP or SATA will be compromised.
