Carolina Deslandes and Martim Sousa Tavares were on the podcast ‘Não Mandas em Mim’, by Inês Lopes Gonçalves, and recalled the childhood friendship that unites them, reporting on several notable episodes from that period.
At a certain point, and when talking about her untimely way of reacting to different situations as a teenager, the Portuguese singer made a revelation.
“Look, I’ve been kicked out of almost every club I’ve been to for hitting on men who groped my butt, but literally almost every one.”he began by saying, with the approval of his friend and conductor, who added that he was “tight-fisted”.
Following this, Carolina Deslandes then recalled an episode she experienced in the restaurant where she worked at the age of 18, demonstrating her perplexity at the words of the person who was her boss at the time.
“I worked in a restaurant in Chiado (…). And I was groped by a customer and the manager of the restaurant where I worked said: ‘who told you to come in leggings?’. And I remember everyone agreeing with that, like: ‘yes, because that’s not the way to come to work’. And I thought: ‘they must be kidding me, this isn’t possible’…”he said.
And then he reflected: “Okay, I thought that was the solution I had, I used to beat the men who did that a lot. Me, my friends, we already beat everyone”he also mentioned.
