Adriana Retyte († 14) breathed her last on Sunday, May 10. A talented schoolgirl and keen footballer died in hospital two days after something shocking happened at the family home in Ashwellthorpe, England. Adriana was found hanged. The sad news was confirmed on Facebook by her 31-year-old mother, Greta Saggers, who did not hide her great pain. “It is with broken hearts that we share the loss of our beautiful Adriana. We thank everyone for the love, kindness and support shown to our family during this incredibly difficult time.” she confessed.
Greta Saggers works as managing director of Anglian Recruitment while also helping her husband Ben Saggers with property firm Strand Development Limited. It was this company that sponsored the Taverham Toucans under-14 girls football team, in which the talented Adriana played. In addition to football, she also liked other sports, art, and was one of the most popular students at school.

In honor of the young schoolgirl, an online collection was created for the Papyrus charity organization, which deals with the prevention of suicides among young people. “It is truly heartbreaking to see someone so young, who had her whole life ahead of her, leave so soon. I will always cherish the time I spent with Adriana and the happy memories we shared. She brought so much joy, laughter and light to the people around her, and these moments will stay with me forever,” Sofia wrote.
Adriana was a 9th grade student at the prestigious private school Langley School. The tragic death affected the leadership and the entire community. “Adriana was a highly respected and beloved member of the school community, known for her warmth, kindness and positive spirit. She approached her studies with diligence and pride, and was respected by staff and students for her thoughtful and considerate nature,” the school said in its official statement, adding that it immediately provided the students with adequate psychological and counseling help.
Adriana was born on February 27, 2012 in the Irish city of Drogheda. The circumstances of this huge tragedy are still under investigation. Norfolk Coroner’s Court has already opened proceedings, with a full inquest into the cause of death scheduled for mid-October.
