Trump is losing his chief of intelligence. Tulsi Gabbard resigns due to husband’s bone cancer

The director of the US National Intelligence Service, Tulsi Gabbard, is leaving her post. She is resigning due to her husband’s serious diagnosis of bone cancer.

The director of the American National Intelligence Service (DNI) Tulsi Gabbardová will resign from her position on June 30. She cited her husband’s health condition and his recent diagnosis of bone cancer as the reason, TASR writes, according to reports from Reuters, The New York Post and Fox News.

  • Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard will step down on June 30.
  • The reason for the departure is that Abraham’s husband has been diagnosed with a rare bone cancer.
  • Gabbard personally informed President Donald Trump of her resignation during a meeting on Friday.

Gabbard informed US President Donald Trump of her intention to resign during their meeting in the Oval Office on Friday. In her resignation letter, she wrote to him that she was “deeply grateful for the trust he has placed in her and for the opportunity to lead the Office of the Director of National Intelligence over the past year and a half.”

Husband’s health condition

“My husband Abraham was recently diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer. He faces great challenges in the coming weeks and months. At this time, I must step down from public service to be by his side and fully support him in this fight,” she wrote in the letter.

Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social that Gabbard did a great job and will be missed. Her current deputy, Aaron Lukas, will temporarily replace her in the position, he announced.

Critic of foreign interventions

According to The New York Post and AFP, Gabbard is a critic of US interventions abroad. Despite this, he does not mention the war against Iran in his letter. According to NBC News, the former Democratic congresswoman never made it into the president’s inner circle.

DNI coordinates the activities of all 18 American intelligence services (CIA, NSA, FBI Intelligence, DIA, NGA, etc.) and is responsible for preparing daily intelligence training for the President.

Gabbard will become the fourth member of Trump’s cabinet to resign, following Attorney General Pam Bondi, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer.
