Montreal – Formula 1 leader Kimi Antonelli drove the fastest lap in free practice for the Canadian Grand Prix. The 19-year-old Italian beat his British Mercedes teammate George Russell to second place (+0.142 seconds). In third place, record world champion Lewis Hamilton in the Ferrari was 0.774 behind, Max Verstappen in the Red Bull was a second slower in fifth, and defending champion Lando Norris in the McLaren in sixth place was almost 1.4 behind.
