Belarus has no plans to enter the war with Ukraine, Belarusian leader Alexandr Lukashenko said this Thursday, after the Ukrainian authorities warned that Minsk wants to attack the neighboring country. “Regarding your statements about the possible entry of Belarus into the war, I simply say that we will only be involved in one case: if aggression is committed against our territory,” Lukashenko said, quoted by the state agency BELTA. He added that Minsk “has no intention of entering the war in Ukraine” and assured that “there is no need for it.” Lukashenko, who presides this Thursday together with the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, over the first joint exercises using tactical-strategic nuclear weapons, assured that he is willing to meet at any time with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, to discuss bilateral relations. “I am willing to meet with him anywhere — in Ukraine, in Belarus — and talk about the problems in bilateral relations,” he assured.
