England will go to next month’s World Cup without several familiar faces, after it was announced this Friday (22) by coach Thomas Tuchel.
Manchester City’s Foden and Chelsea’s Palmer were vying for the number 10 position but were eventually overtaken in Tuchel’s pecking order after disappointing seasons.
Real Madrid right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold was also passed over, having played just once since Tuchel took charge in 2025.
There was a surprise call-up for striker Ivan Toney, who hadn’t played for England in 12 months, while veteran Brentford midfielder Jordan Henderson is heading to his fourth World Cup.
Manchester United defender, . There was no room for Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White despite an impressive season.
England is one of the main favorites for the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico. It is in Group L with Croatia, Ghana and Panama.
