Brazil’s next opponent in a friendly preparatory match for the World Cup, Panama released its squad list for the World Cup this Tuesday (26).
The main highlights of Danish coach Thomas Christiansen’s team are midfielder Adalberto Carrasquilla, from Pumas in Mexico, and defender José Cordoba, from Norwich City in England.
The Panamanians make up group L of the World Cup, alongside Ghana, Croatia and England.
This will be only the Central American country’s second participation in the FIFA (International Football Federation) national team tournament.
The debut took place in Russia, in 2018, when the team accumulated three defeats against Belgium, England and Tunisia.
The friendly against Carlo Ancelotti’s team is scheduled for next Sunday (31), at Maracanã, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time).
Brazil and Panama have faced each other five times in history, with four Brazilian victories and a draw in the last meeting, in 2019.
After the duel against the Brazilian team, the Panamanians will have two more friendlies before the World Cup, against the Dominican Republic, on June 3rd, and against Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the 6th.
