The former governor of Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Castrois the target of the 8th phase of Operation Compliance Zero of Federal Police triggered this Tuesday (26), which investigates possible irregularities in investments made by the state government in funds linked to Banco Master.

Operation agents left to comply 10 search and seizure warrants in Rio de Janeiro and the Federal Districtwhich were issued by the Federal Supreme Court (STF)

Among the targets is the politician’s residence, located in a luxury penthouse in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

The PF’s action aims to investigate the irregular application of around R$3 billion from Rioprevidência in investment funds linked to the Master. The investigation seeks to clarify the possible practice of financial crimes involving resources from the Single Social Security Fund of the State of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the PF, the case is an unfolding of the Operation Paper Boatwhich identified contributions considered suspicious by Rioprevidência in Letras Financeiras from the private bank, totaling approximately R$970 million between October 2023 and July 2024.

In this new phase of the investigation, agents are still investigating investments of R$ 2.01 billion carried out from July 2024 onwards in investment funds from the same financial institution, bringing the total handled to around R$3 billion.
