Mexico City – The reason for the planned relocation of the Iranian national team’s World Cup headquarters to Mexico was, according to Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum, the USA’s unwillingness to host the team. “The United States does not want the Iranian national team to stay overnight in the United States,” said the Mexican leader. According to Sheinbaum, FIFA asked Mexico if it would be willing to accommodate the Iranians.
