The coordinator of (‘s) pre-campaign, senator (PL-RN), asked the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) to investigate what he called a selective leak, after the disclosure of conversations between the presidential candidate and .
He demanded a rigorous investigation into the leak of confidential information from the court’s investigation. And he wants the minister to investigate the origin of the material released, where it was stored and which agents had access to the data.
The representation is made weeks after the website The Intercept Brasil published Nelas, the presidential candidate is demanding resources that would be destined to finance a film that tells the story of the former president.
The audios caused a crisis in the campaign, in the PL and in the financial market. In one of them, Flávio calls Vorcaro “my brother” and says he will always be with him.
In the request to the STF, Marinho says he does not want to question press freedom, but to identify those responsible for disclosing confidential material.
“Freedom of the press does not eliminate the state’s duty to investigate the origin of leaks of confidential documents”, says the senator.
The document calls for the establishment of a specific procedure to investigate the leak of information, in addition to investigating any violation of functional secrecy.
“The aim is to investigate the origin of the leak, the chain of custody of the disclosed material, the agents who had access to confidential elements and the possible misuse of information protected by secrecy for the purposes of public embarrassment, political interference or imbalance of due legal process”, says an excerpt from the representation.
