Senator posted a photo next to the North American president; Lula government sees risk of foreign interference in faction classification
The senator (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, this Tuesday (May 26, 2026) with the President of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican Party), in the Oval Office of the White House.
According to the congressman, the central theme of the conversation was the request for the North American government to formally classify the Brazilian factions PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital) and CV (Comando Vermelho) as terrorist organizations. The Lula government is against the measure and claims that the decision could open a loophole for foreign interference.
“I exactly made this express request to him so that he declares PCC and CV as terrorist organizations, which is what they are”Flávio told journalists after the meeting.
O meeting, of which there are only posed photos in image records, it was outside of Trump’s appointment schedule released by the White House. The congressman was accompanied by his brother Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and journalist Paulo Figueiredo. It was not known who arranged the meeting.
Flávio also said that he intends to meet with other members of the United States government. He, however, did not mention names.
Allies say talks are planned with high-ranking members of the State Department. The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, however, is not in the country: according to his statement, he is in India.
