The opposition decided to summon the Minister of Mines and Energy, to provide clarifications to deputies about the Capacity Reserve Auction questioned by the (Federal Audit Court).
The technical area after questions were raised about the legality of the rules, the exclusion of renewable sources and, mainly, about the auction price. The accusation is that the ceiling prices were changed 72 hours before the event.
It was also prosecuted by Fiesp (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo) and other entities that question the irregularities.
According to the lawsuits, the auction rules could make Brazilians’ electricity bills more expensive. The total cost is R$515 billion, which could cause a 10% increase in the energy bill.
Deputy Danilo Forte (PP-CE) also presented and asked the PF for an investigation ().
In the political world, the pressure falls on the Minister of Mines and Energy who has already been summoned to provide clarifications in the Senate. This Wednesday (27), he would go to the Chamber’s Mines and Energy committee, but canceled his presence.
Deputies then began a new offensive to demand measures from the federal government. The idea is that the pressure will be enough to suspend the auction.
