The fact that Zdena Studenková is not only a famous actress but also a cook is nothing new. The legendary diva even has several cookbooks to her credit. Even with a busy work schedule, she manages to cook for her partner, musician Braň Kostka. In an interview for the website, Studenková talked about her beginnings in the kitchen, but she also admitted what she would regret about herself.
Cube loves her cooking. “Branko very gratefully eats food even two days in a row. Don’t let someone tell me she has to cook every day because a man wouldn’t eat it. On the contrary, when, for example, Szeged cheese is well prepared, it tastes great even on the third day. In addition, some dishes, such as stuffed peppers, can only be cooked in a large pot. Then I divide it and put it nicely in the freezer. Even though I’m going to shoot in Prague for three days, Branko has his boxes of food prepared in the freezer“, she revealed how they work at home.
She started cooking as a child. “I think I was nine the first time I baked bubblegum, it just turned out bad, because I went cycling and forgot about it. When I came back, I thoughtlessly ran into the kitchen, I opened the oven and there was such a puff of smoke that even our cat Muro, who was always on our heels when it came to food, ran away and did not return until three days later“, she mentioned a funny incident.
Despite a minor setback, she did not give up and continued to work on herself. “When I was fourteen, I was already cooking complete meals, my mother didn’t fight with me very much. She went on vacation with her second husband, of course, I didn’t want to go with them, so my mother sat me down and dictated to me the recipes for the dishes that I liked,” she explained.
“She gave me money and told me that if I spend it on the first day, I won’t have any money left over and then I won’t have anything to eat. But when I manage, I will cook with that money every day. That’s how she threw me into the water and I managed it without any problems,” she described how she learned to be a proper housewife.
While some women consider cooking to be a chore, Studenková enjoys it. “For me, cooking is fun and relaxing. I would regret it if I had to go to a gas station or a soup kitchen to eat. Even if I’m going to a movie, I’d rather take my food in boxes than eat there,” she said directly.
