Minister of Labor says Lula will seek Alcolumbre to approve 6×1

The Minister of Labor Luiz Marinho stated this Wednesday (27) that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) should seek the president of the Senate Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP) to complete the processing of the PEC at the end of the 6×1.

Marinho believes that.

“The Senate will also have the wisdom to listen to the cry of Brazilian society. Let’s talk to Davi and I’m sure that sensitivity will convince the senator,” he said.

Still according to the minister, the tension between the Legislative and the Executive no longer exists. In March, the Senate rejected the appointment of the Union’s attorney general, Jorge Messias, to the STF (Supreme Federal Court). This was the first time in more than 130 years that the Upper House had refused a nomination to the Court. Now, Lula must decide whether to make a new appointment by the end of the year or leave it for a possible fourth term.

Marinho minimized the lack of dialogue between them at this time and said that Lula and Alcolumbre are like friends who “stay months without talking to each other, but who resume warm contact.”

In an interview, the minister called for the text to be voted on in the Senate in the first half of the year, but said he respected the Upper House’s time. For him, the ideal is for the project to have no significant changes and not return to the Chamber.

“The Senate has its time. But we ask them to do it as quickly as possible. I hope the Senate has the wisdom to keep the report so it doesn’t have to come back here and then return to the Senate”, concluded Marinho.

A CNN had already anticipated this trend. Political organizers at the Palácio do Planalto and the National Congress are trying to arrange a meeting between Lula and Alcolumbre by Friday (29).

The expectation is that the conversation can take place after the approval of the end of the 6×1 scale in the Chamber, with the ball already handed over to the Federal Senate.

The environment, however, has changed again and government officials believe it is possible to make the ponte for the agenda to come to fruition and for the two to discuss edges of the conflictual relationship in recent months.

The indications so far are that the Senate should not hinder the government’s plans to see a strong agenda electoral appeal as the end of the 6×1 journey approved until June.
