The 90s are back?! Ondrík took a hard line at politicians: I’m keeping my fingers crossed that vagabonds don’t sit in parliament, but behind bars

One of the most prominent roles of actor Milan Ondrík (46) recently was the portrayal of Mikuláš Černák. In an interview for a Czech website, he said that he is watching the court process, which may decide on the release of the former mafia boss. In one breath, he added that he had become the target of criticism in Slovakia for his statements about Černák.

“I started to receive a wave of haters saying how dare I defend a murderer. I just said that if I didn’t know about what he did, I would say that he is a fair and charismatic person. But people condemned me for it. But I know what he did” said Ondrik.

He then wondered aloud whether Černak should be released from prison after years, but quickly moved on to another topic. “I’ll tell you the truth, my opinion on whether or not they should let him go… I would rather say that it is not a problem whether they let him in or not, but the problem is that there are no vagabonds who should be sitting in Slovakia.” he expressed himself harshly and added that in his opinion there are such people in the Czech Republic as well.

In his opinion, the topic of Černák is just a cover, because the 90s were terrible in Slovakia. “He himself realizes what he did. And he did atrocities, inexcusable things. But these inexcusable things have also been done by people who are free. And actually, the 90s in Slovakia are closed by the fact that Černak is sitting, that’s OK, so we are all satisfied. Even those who shook hands with him. But I think that not only in Slovakia, the 90s are much more dangerous in 2026“, he noted.

The moderator was intrigued by his answer and asked if it was really still the 90s in Slovakia. “Well, hey, but they’re in suits. They are more in suits than in sweatshirts and sweatpants. And that is very dangerous. Fingers crossed for us. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for us to stop it, so that justice is actually in the right place. So that vagabonds do not sit in parliament, but behind bars,” he declared bluntly.

Ondrík did not want to name any specific politician he was alluding to with these words, because in his opinion everyone knows that anyway. “Everyone knows how to steal. They all know what they are doing. Everyone knows what scams they are doing. People know it too, those who do it know it too,” the actor burst out. “We all know where the money is, where the money is stolen. We all know how populist it is to get the votes of some voters. Everyone knows it. Even those who vote for them. Everyone knows it, they just don’t say it out loud,” Ondrík added.
