Trump: Tough plan for Iran - No deal without guarantees, says Tehran

The interest of the International community is still focused on it, as while waiting for the signing of the peace plan that they are studying, the American president is coming back with tougher terms in the agreement.

Trump is hardening his stance

The New York Times reports that Trump’s changes tighten the terms of a deal, while the news website Axios reports that Trump wanted to strengthen many parts of the deal, most notably on Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran: There is no trust

At the same time, Iran’s chief negotiator Mohammad Magher Ghalibaf underlined that “there is no trust in the enemy’s promises” and that “only the substantive results matter”.

“There is no agreement without guarantees”

“We will not approve any agreement until we are sure that the rights of the Iranian people are fully guaranteed,” the head of Iran’s negotiating team with Washington said in a video broadcast by Iranian media, as reported by the Guardian.

“There is no trust in the words and promises of the enemy. Our only criterion is to achieve tangible results before fulfilling our own commitments in return,” he explained during his swearing-in as speaker of the Iranian parliament after being re-elected to the post.

According to the Axios website, Trump is seeking a tougher stance on Washington, particularly on Tehran’s nuclear program.

Iran’s “red line”.

Iran considers the lifting of US sanctions and the release of frozen Iranian assets as fundamental rights that must be guaranteed in any agreement with the US.

Iran, since the beginning of the war, has imposed strict control over the Straits of Hormuz.

In response, the US has imposed a naval blockade of Iranian ports and coasts since April 13.

For their part, the Revolutionary Guards note that on the last day 28 ships sailed through the Straits of Hormuz.

In more detail, it says that 28 ships, including oil tankers, container ships and other commercial vessels, have passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours “under the coordination and security of the IRGC Navy.”

“Intelligent control of the Strait of Hormuz is carried out continuously and with determination and authority,” his statement carried by the Fars news agency said.
