João Fonseca faces the Czech Jakub Mensik this Tuesday (2), at 3:15 pm (Brasília time), for Roland Garros quarter-finals. The match takes place on the Philippe-Chatrier court and will be broadcast live on ESPN and the Disney+ platform.
This is the first time that the 19-year-old Brazilian reaches the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam. Current number 30 in the ATP rankings, Fonseca secured a prize pool exceeding R$2 million with the campaign in the French tournament, approaching its best mark in the world rankings.
The opponent, Jakub Mensik, occupies the 27th position in the ranking. The history between the two records two previous clashes, both with Fonseca victory.
