Donald Trump reportedly gave Benjamin Netanyahu a big blow due to Israel’s recent attacks on Lebanon and its impact on peace negotiations with Iran.

According to , the North American president confronted the Israeli prime minister in a tense telephone conversation. At stake are fears that the Israeli conflict with Lebanon could harm ongoing diplomatic efforts between Washington and Iran.
According to sources familiar with the conversation, Trump harshly criticized the recent Israeli actions in Lebanonparticularly plans to expand military operations and carry out attacks in Beirut. The American head of state also accused Netanyahu of ingratitude for the support he gave him during the corruption trial.
“You’re a f***ing crazy person. You would be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your ass. Everyone hates you now. Everyone hates Israel because of this“, Trump reportedly said.
Another source with knowledge of the call claims that Trump was “furious” and, at one point, shouted at Netanyahu: “What the fuck are you doing?“.
The dispute comes at a delicate moment in relations between the US and Iran. Earlier that day, Iranian authorities warned that continued Israeli military escalation in Lebanon could compromise ongoing negotiations with Washington. The talks aim to reach a broader agreement which, among other provisions, could include an end to hostilities in Lebanon.
US officials also indicated that Trump was concerned about the growing number of civilian casualties in Lebanon and with military operations against individual Hezbollah commanders. The president reportedly warned that such actions risked damaging both Israel’s position on the international scene and regional stability in general.
Despite the exchange of barbs, the United States and Israel continue to closely coordinate their actions on important regional issues, particularly in relation to Iran.
