Suspect lived with her family for over a year and used childish behavior to support her disguise; She has a record in five states
The Civil Police of Santa Catarina, through the 6th Police Station of Joinville, arrested a 37-year-old woman for the crimes of fraud e false identity. The suspect used the false name “Gabriele” and passed as a 12 year old girl to deceive a family in the district of Pirabeiraba. The arrest took place in the victims’ home, where the investigated lived for about 14 months.
According to investigations, the woman claimed to be autism carrier and of other clinical conditions to gain trust of residents and sustain a farce. To justify her physical appearance as an adult, she argued that her features were the result of the forced use of hormones during childhood.
The Civil Police reported that, to reinforce the role of a child, the investigated adopted a specific routine. “The suspect maintained childish behavior, routinely using pacifiers, bottles and play objects,” reports the corporation.
Investigations showed that the woman is recidivist of this type of crime. She already accumulates criminal record by similar scams in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul and Goiás.
During interrogation, the woman confessed to being responsible for the events. According to the Civil Police, the suspect was taken to the Joinville Regional Prison. It remains at the disposal of the Judiciary.
