Pre-candidate for President states that he intends to take advantage of different political currents in a “useful” way
The pre-candidate for President for Mission, Renan Santos, stated this Wednesday (June 3, 2026) that, if elected, he intends to adopt a government stance without persecuting political opponents and defend the use of cadres from different ideological currents. The statement was given to the .
In the interview, Renan Santos criticized the political division in the country and said that his government proposal would be based on cooperation between different groups, including ideological opponents, as long as they were considered “useful” for the execution of a government project.
“There is a feeling in Brazil and today it is: ‘Ah, I’m with PT, I’m Bolsonaro, I want to destroy you, I want to destroy’. Someone needs to come to power who will say: ‘the war is over. Let’s stop this mess’. For example, I want to get to power, I want to turn to a guy on the left: ‘I don’t want to destroy you. I want to see how you’re going to be useful in our project. I’m not going to persecute you if you have a different opinion than mine. But this way, this shit is over. Let’s go work properly?’” said Renan Santos.
The pre-candidate also defends a market-oriented economic agenda and argues that the central objective of the electoral dispute should be victory at the polls, and not retaliation against political opponents, reinforcing the criticism of the “revenge” dynamic between ideological camps.
“Someone has to win the war, which is now to win the elections and not take revenge. Because everyone knows that it is a war that one wants to take revenge against the other. We don’t have to go for revenge. And we have another enemy to defeat. We have organized crime to defeat”, Renan said.
