PT members talk about censorship in TSE decision on research – 06/08/2026 – Politics

The left classified the latest Atlas/Bloomberg survey as censorship, considered negative for , and raised an alert about the president of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), Kassio Nunes Marques. Meanwhile, the right was discreet when commenting on the decision, avoiding raising the subject of the relationship between the pre-presidential candidate and the former banker again.

The PT leader in the Chamber, , told Sheet that Flávio Bolsonaro has faced “profound exhaustion” after the revelation that he asked for money from the then owner of Banco Master to finance the film “Dark Horse”. The deputy says that the senator followed the maxim of “when he can’t win the message, he attacks the messenger”.

For the deputy, Flávio “shot himself in the foot” by “asking for censorship” for bringing “back the issue of the audio leak”. The point is that the PL itself decided not to make a fuss about the decision of Kassio Nunes Marques, who reached the STF (Supreme Federal Court) on the recommendation of former president Jair Bolsonaro.

The PL presidential candidate shared the news on his networks with the words “TSE suspends research that induced responses against Flávio Bolsonaro”, but did not release a note or video on the topic. Among the few Bolsonaro deputies who published on the topic, he called the research fake.

Behind the scenes, however, the PT raised an alert. Until then, Kassio’s supposed proximity to Bolsonarism, party leaders understand that the president of the TSE is not immune to the pressures of this political field.

Flávio Bolsonaro, asking for the research to be suspended. In other words, it took 20 days until this Monday’s decision (8), which negated the practical effect of the decision against the withdrawal. PT members fear that, in future cases, Kassio Nunes Marques will be less resistant to meeting the PL’s demands.

At the top of the PT, the assessment is that this is an invasive determination against Atlas’ research method. Furthermore, in the PT analysis, the arguments presented to remove the air survey are not sustainable.

Despite this, it is most likely that the party will not get involved in this discussion. The reasoning is that it is not worth getting upset with the president of the TSE with the election approaching over an issue that does not directly involve the party.

The Atlas research was commissioned by Bloomberg. The survey, the first released after the revelation of the Dark Horse case, showed Flávio Bolsonaro six percentage points in voting intentions in a possible second round against President Lula.

According to the questionnaire made available by Atlas to the TSE, the content of the audio from Flávio to Vorcaro was shown to the interviewees, but as the last item in the survey. Voters who collaborated in the survey were asked 48 questions, the first of which were about their voting intentions.

The survey was released on May 19. 5,032 people were interviewed using the Atlas RDR method, an acronym for random digital recruitment, from May 13th to 18th.

In a statement, AtlasIntel defended the scientific rigor of the research and said that the collection of voting intentions took place without the audio being played during the questionnaire. According to the company, the material was only presented to users at a later stage — without the possibility of returning to questions or changing answers already recorded.

The PL pre-campaign stated that the research questionnaire would have been “structured in a way that seriously induced a negative perception about Flávio Bolsonaro”. The Bolsonarist also maintains that the arrangement of the questions and themes, with “the use of associations between the pre-candidate, Daniel Vorcaro and contaminate him and induce the answers of the interviewees”.
